Prevocational course

Certificate in Vocational Education (Prevocational) Plumbing


Location:  Regency Campus

Award: On successful completion of the course the student will attain an accredited Certificate in Vocational Education (Plumbing)

Duration: 6 months (full time)

Course Information: The objective of the course is to increase the student's chances of employment or to qualify for an apprenticeship or Traineeship.

Entry requirements:
SACE Stage 1 or equivalent (preferred)
Completion of technology studies an advantage
Good communication skills
Students are selected and short listed from results of an entry test and formal interview.

Length: Level 1 (19 weeks full time) is in a single trade area and is equivalent to the first year of the academic component of an apprenticeship.

Training Requirements

Entry to the Plumbing trades is through the completion of a 4 year Training Contract, followed by registration to the Office of Consumer and Business Affairs for registration to work in the Plumbing Industry.

Courses leading to a Certificate in Vocational Education are useful pre-requisites for employment and trade training.
