Information
This
training provides students with the necessary skills and knowledge
to carry out the design, installation and maintenance tasks
associated with their role as tradespeople in plumbing and/or gasfitting.
This course provides the study areas necessary to qualify for
plumbing registration.
Entry
requirements:
To
become a qualified plumbing tradesperson in South Australia, it is
necessary to have completed a contract of training (formerly
apprenticeship). A contract of training is applicable to the trade
program and is made between the employer and apprentice for a
nominal period of up to four years, during which time on-the-job and
off-the-job training takes place.
The
employer selects the person according to recruitment policies.
Length
The
period of apprenticeship is four years, with a probationary period
of three months at the beginning of the apprenticeship.
