Mission Statement
Trainee and
Apprentice Placement Service Inc will provide employment and quality
training to plumbing apprentices to meet as a minimum the industry
competency standards, for the period of time necessary for those
apprentices to reach Australian Qualifications Framework Level 3 (AQF
Level 3 or Tradesperson status) in South Australia.
This will be received by:
-
identifying
customer (both internal and external) needs;
-
optimising
the use of the training capacity in smaller businesses which
individually have neither the training facilities nor the range of
work to provide adequate long term employment and training for
apprentices and trainees.
-
focusing
on employers who have not previously been involved in apprentice
training, and employers who have a short term and narrow band
training capacity.
-
providing
additional training opportunities for out of trade apprentices,
graduates of prevocational courses, females and other people
disadvantaged in the labour market including Aborigines and Torres
Strait Islanders, long term unemployed, people with disabilities,
adults and those from a non English speaking background;
-
systematic
and planned rotation between host employers of different size and
activity, as appropriate and, inter alia, combined with close
monitoring of placements;
